Behind the Frame
Imagine climbing a cliff in over 1.000 meters while managing to get the perfect frame of your protagonist. This is one of the challenges Florian Nick encountered on the making of this thrilling documentation. While climbing and shooting 7 days straight in the French region of Chamonix and also near Verbier, Florian Nick portraits the story about the passionate climber Dominic. The concept manifests itself in visualizing the connection between man and mountain, life and rock. The difficult terrain and challenging journey projected itself into the production, reducing the filming team into only one person: Florian Nick. With the help of Dominics wife Anna-Lena H. they were able to capture breathtaking moments, at the right time: climbing before dusk till down. Timing is all while filming, since it is light, we filmmakers use to create our art pieces.
